(AHEM) October now. Oops! I have a thousand reasons, but my own proclivity towards procrastination is probably to blame. First off, we are super grateful to all the folks who prayed and supported us. From those who donated, attended and helped with fundraisers, encouraged us in our endeavors and prayed for us before and during the trip, we are SO grateful to you. We have invested many years of our lives in Belize and our relationships there and so have you by investing in us. THANK you! It was a TRIP, I'll say. I don't think bringing a toddler was MORE difficult per se, but the problems we encountered this year were unlike any year prior, from flight delays to hurricanes to horrible stomach sickness. It was an adventure! We are so glad we went and were able to play vital roles in helping make the 7th annual Awaken Belize happen. Christopher's AV expertise and troubleshooting skills were called upon daily! I was so blessed to be able to lead worship the first night and be a part of the worship team for the entire conference. The BAND was beyond amazing, comprised of folks from 4 different churches hailing from Texas and Belize. What a joy to serve alongside each of them (Makalin, Kelsie, Johnny, Joel, and Jason), with such servants hearts, amazing talent and humility. This was such a miracle, because we didn't have a band a month prior to the trip and God totally supplied a PHENOMENAL team! One of the people who came on the team because we desperately needed a drummer received a MAJOR touch from God and some much needed healing for some wounds she had experienced on the mission field. She served wonderfully and God did some awesome things in her life. We saw people worship with abandon and no doubt hearts were softened during the sweet time of worship each night. That was definitely a highlight for me (Brooke). Christopher worked 12 hour days, as usual, to pull together a heroic Light, Audio and Projector setup for the conference. The lights were delayed two days and were not even completed by the time the doors opened on the first night. Lots of hiccups with the sound system over heating. I'm so proud of how tirelessly and selflessly Chris worked and it was a joy to be his wife on this trip, rather than just a friend or girlfriend. Everyone LOVED meeting Caely. She was NOT happy about mommy being on stage every night and was very vocal about it. As soon as worship finished, I took her back to to hotel and she passed out. Tired girl! But she had ZERO breathing problems during the trip, just what we prayed for. We were going to enjoy 3 days after the conference at the beach, but a hurricane decided to develop and wreck those plans. When the hurricane made landfall, Chris and I were running to the bathroom a LOT and were very sick for three days. Our sweet girl basically watched videos for 2 days and our Belizean friends rescued us by taking her to the beach one afternoon while we slept. PRAISE God, Caely didn't get what we had or she would have had to be hospitalized. We returned home with glad hearts in helping with another successful Awaken and getting to spend time with our dear friends in Belize.
